School’s out for Summer!! I’ve always loved that song. It’s July and school has been out for a month. Since I am hoping to move this summer, I didn’t want to plant a lot in the ground or get a big pool for the kids. Instead, I have flowers and 7 tomato plants in pots so I can take them when I move. I found some tomato plants on clearance and planted them in the ground. They are doing great and are starting to produce tomatoes.

I bought the kids a small kiddie pool. Okay, I bought it for me too. It has 2 seats built in so I can chill out in the pool. It’s only about 20 inches deep so mostly for cooling off.
Matthew spends a lot of time there. He wanted a big pool so I told him next summer we will get one for the new house. I’m hoping this one will last so I can use it while the kids swim in the bigger pool. My own private cooling off spot.
I’m trying to get Matthew to practice cursive a little each week, but he is fighting it tooth and nail. “School’s out Grandma”. That boy can be stubborn at times. Guess he gets it from me. I also want to start learning states and capitals. He will have to learn them in Social Studies next year so I thought we might get a head start. I’m not having much luck there either.
I’ve started packing things that I don’t need anytime soon. I don’t want to wait until I only have a few weeks to pack. It’s a big job. I’m also getting rid of things that I don’t need. Nothing like a move to make you dejunk.
One of the things I want to get the kids next summer is a trampoline. I’m thinking about digging a hole and having it just above ground level. This is the one I’m looking at for next summer. It has a basketball hoop and sprinkler. They could use it year-round but the sprinkler would come down during the winter.

I may get a small personal size one just for me that I can use. I’m looking at this one for me. It will be good exercise for me and may even fit in my closet. If not, it will fit in my bedroom. Maybe my knees will improve.
